Our Code of Ethics for members is one of the ways to put Eristotle’s values into practice.

Eristotle CODE OF ETHICS

You must read and agree to this Code of Ethics in order to be able to proceed with your membership and exam registration.

As an Eristotle member and the respective certification(s) recipient, you agree by default to support and adhere to the responsibilities described in the Code of Ethics. Any Eristotle member and/or a respective certification exam candidate or recipient who intentionally or knowingly violates any provision of the Code of Ethics will be subject to action by a review panel, which may result in the cancellation of membership or exam registration, denial to sit the exam, and revocation of the respective credential.

Membership Policy

Membership in Eristotle is open to any person interested in its declared purposes. A person seeking annual membership will be accepted as a member of Eristotle upon submission, receipt, acceptance and processing of the required online registration application and fees.

All Eristotle memberships are for the specific and sole use of the registered individual for whom payment is made and are non-transferable. Fees are non-refundable and subject to change at membership renewal time.

Certain membership categories (for example Student and Retiree) are offered at a reduced fee and are available only to individuals who genuinely qualify for them. By selecting a discounted category at registration or renewal, you confirm that you meet its eligibility criteria. Knowingly claiming a category for which you do not qualify is a misrepresentation and a violation of this Code of Ethics, and may result in cancellation of your membership for cause, following review as described above, without refund of fees paid.

A member agrees to pay and remain current in the payment of fees upon expiry of its term in order to continue as a member and maintain their certification. In order to join Eristotle, you will need to complete the online application form and pay your annual fee. You will be notified by email when your membership renewal is due.

In the case of partial fee payment or payments not received:

Membership will not be activated until full payment has been received.
Registered members will be notified by email of any outstanding fee and will have 45 days to make a full payment.
If full payment has not been received within those 45 days your membership record will be set to inactive.

Please seek the advice from your personal accountant or local taxation office to determine if membership is tax deductible in your country.

Responsibilities to the Profession

Compliance with Eristotle Certification Rules and Policies

Responsibility to abide by exam testing rules and policies. Engaging in prohibited conduct while taking the examination is strictly prohibited. Prohibited conduct includes but is not limited to the use of notes containing examination information in the testing room, or/and, in other areas within the testing facility during breaks as appropriate.
Responsibility to keep confidential the contents of the respective certification exams, including questions, scenarios and cases. Disclosure is strictly prohibited and includes but is not limited to communication to colleagues, other exam candidates, and exam review course instructors.
Responsibility to report to Eristotle any type of exam-related security or misconduct issue, including disclosure of content by others that the respective certification exams candidate or recipient becomes aware of.

Compliance with all Organizational Rules and Policies

Responsibility to provide accurate and truthful representations concerning all information directly or indirectly related to all aspects of the respective certification programs including but not limited to the following: examination applications or registrations, test item banks, examinations, answer sheets, candidate information sheets and respective recertification program reporting forms.
Upon a reasonable and clear factual basis, responsibility to report possible violations of the Code of Ethics by individuals in the field.
Responsibility to cooperate with Eristotle Certification Body concerning ethics violations and the collection of related information.
Responsibility to disclose to clients, customers, owners or contractors, significant circumstances that could be construed as a conflict of interest or an appearance of impropriety.

Candidates Professional Practice

Responsibility to provide accurate, truthful advertising and representations concerning qualifications, experience, and performance of services.
Responsibility to render only those services for which you are fully competent and qualified.
Responsibility to comply with laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing professional practice in the state/province and/or country where providing services.
Responsibility to respect the trust and privileges granted to you.

Advancement of the Profession

Responsibility to recognize and respect intellectual property developed or owned by others and to act in an accurate, truthful, and complete manner in relation to all professional work and research activities.
Responsibility to report and disseminate the Code of Ethics.
Responsibility to avoid professional association with those whose practices or reputation might diminish the profession.
Responsibility to take care not to injure the reputation of other professionals through malice or indifference.
Responsibility to maintain your competence; keep your skills and knowledge current.
Responsibility to sponsor for professional advancement of the best qualified professionals. All other things being equal, give preferences to those who are certified and who adhere to these principles.
Avoid professional association with those whose practices or reputation might diminish the profession.
Responsibility to take care not to injure the reputation of other professionals through malice or indifference.
Responsibility to maintain your competence; keep your skills and knowledge current.
Responsibility to give generously of your time and knowledge in training others.

Responsibilities to the Client and the Public

Qualifications, Experience, and Performance of Professional Duties

Responsibility to act honorably and legally to provide accurate and truthful representations to the public in advertising, public statements, and in the preparation of estimates concerning costs, services, and expected results.
Responsibility to render only those services for which you are fully competent and qualified.
Responsibility to maintain and satisfy the scope and objectives of professional service.
Responsibility to maintain and respect the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained in the course of professional activities or otherwise where a clear obligation exists.
Responsibility to preserve the value of their systems, applications, and information.
Responsibility to respect their trust and the privileges granted with that trust.

Conflict of Interest Situations and Other Prohibited Professional Situations

Responsibility to ensure that a conflict of interest does not compromise legitimate interests of a client or a customer, or influence/interfere with professional judgments.
Responsibility to refrain from offering or accepting inappropriate payments, gifts or other forms of compensation for personal gain unless in conformity with applicable laws or customs of the country where services are being provided.

Certification & Re-certification Terms

Certification Application/Fee

By creating an account with Eristotle and submitting your online application, you understand that Eristotle may contact you regarding your account and online application.
You consent to Eristotle collecting and storing the foregoing information, in accordance to the Privacy Policy, and contacting your stated references and contacts to confirm any or all information in your online application.
You understand that the application fee is non-transferable between products and individuals and non-refundable, and that if your application is approved, you have one year from the time of the approval email is sent by Eristotle to take the exam before your application lapses. If your application lapses, you must reapply and repay the application fee.

Certification Exams and Exams Rewrite Fees

You agree to the terms and conditions listed below for payment of exam and exam rewrite fees as follows:

Exam candidates must schedule and complete their exam or exam rewrite within 12 months from the date Eristotle receives the corresponding fee payment.
All exam and exam rewrite fees are strictly non-refundable from the moment of payment. If a candidate does not schedule and sit the exam within the specified 12-month period, their payment will be forfeited entirely. To schedule or reschedule the exam beyond this period, candidates must submit a new payment of the exam or exam rewrite fee.
If a candidate needs to cancel or reschedule a scheduled exam, cancellation or rescheduling fees will apply as outlined within the Eristotle Certification Guide. It is the candidate’s responsibility to review and comply with these requirements.
Candidates who fail to attend their scheduled exam without properly cancelling or rescheduling in advance, as outlined within the Eristotle Certification Guide, will be marked as a no-show. No-shows will forfeit their previously paid exam or exam rewrite fees, without exception. A new payment of the exam or exam rewrite fee will be required to reschedule and sit for the exam.

Certification Marks

Recipients in good standing (i.e. those who successfully pass the exam and recertify when required on time) are granted a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license and permission to use the following marks and trademarks (collectively “Certification Marks”) for the term that the recipient is in good standing in accordance with the terms and conditions and, that as a recipient, you agree:

to use the respective Certification Marks in accordance with the standards set out in Eristotle Terms of Use; and
to terminate the use of the respective Certification Marks in the event the certificate/certification is revoked, or the recipient is no longer in good standing.
that Eristotle reserves the right to revoke the license herein at its sole discretion at any time.

Recertification Application/Fee
