2. Purpose of the Role #

The Forensics Analyst plays a critical role in performing digital forensic investigations, extracting, analyzing, and presenting data using forensically sound techniques. The role involves verification, validation, and normalization of data from multiple sources, reduction of data volumes through de-duplication, and in-depth analysis to support SOC activities. The Forensics Analyst also supports investigations, produces technical reports, and provides immediate responses for compromised systems.
